I had mixed feelings about my stay at Riad Anjar. While the rooms were beautifully appointed and clean, I found some aspects lacking, such as communication regarding breakfast times and the unsettling presence of cockroaches. The location was convenient yet posed a safety concern at night (which made me a bit nervous). Overall, it was a nice stay, but some improvements are necessary.

Rooms
8.0
The superior double room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The toiletries provided, including local black soap, were a good touch.
Service
6.0
While some staff were friendly and accommodating, I experienced unprofessional responses regarding breakfast timing, which created confusion.
Location
7.0
The location is excellent as it's just off the main thoroughfare, making it easy to explore the Medina, yet it felt a bit unsafe at night.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was disappointing with limited options (only croissants and jam), especially considering the price we paid. I expected more variety.
Facilities
6.0
The common areas, including the beautifully decorated terrace and pool area, provided a serene atmosphere, but the pool wasn't usable due to cleanliness issues.

I had a fantastic stay at Riad Anjar, tucked away in the Medina, making it a peaceful retreat yet close to all the action. The staff were incredibly kind and went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. However, I did find the hotel tricky to locate initially and there was a small 5% credit card fee that caught me off guard. Overall, I'd definitely come back!

My room was beautifully appointed, comfortable, and equipped with excellent toiletries, including the local black soap, which was a nice touch.
Service

The service was truly really good. The staff were friendly and shared great tips about Marrakech, making me feel welcome throughout my stay.
Location

The location is unbeatable; it's close to the souks and main square but feels like an oasis of calm, being just off the main thoroughfare.
Dining
7.0
Breakfast was fairly simple with bread, butter, and jam, but it was healthy and different every day. It could've been a bit more varied, as I had better dining experiences at other places in Morocco.
Facilities
8.0
The riad offered a range of facilities like room service and laundry, which were handy during my stay, though I didn't use all of them.

6.2/10

My stay at Riad Anjar was filled with mixed experiences. The location was fantastic, right in the heart of the medina while providing a serene escape. The staff were friendly and helpful, yet at times they were hard to reach. Unfortunately, the amenities were lacking, and I encountered issues with my room's privacy and cleanliness.

Rooms
6.0
The Standard Double Room was cozy, though it lacked a stand-up shower and had some noise issues due to the building's age. Thankfully, the toiletries, including the beautiful Moroccan exfoliating soap, were a nice touch.
Service
7.0
The service had its ups and downs. The staff were warm and eager to help, but their availability was inconsistent since there was no traditional front desk. Emanuela, the manager, was especially accommodating when planning our excursions.
Location
9.0
The location of the riad is superb. It's a short 10-minute walk to the bustling medina but feels like an oasis of calm. I couldn't have asked for a better place to explore from.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was a bit monotonous. While the pastries and fruit were nice, it mostly consisted of bread and instant coffee, which got repetitive after a few days.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities were basic. There were no TVs or fridges available, and room service was limited. However, the complimentary welcome drink was a pleasant surprise.

My stay at Riad Anjar was a mix of charming and frustrating. The location is excellent, just off the main thoroughfare yet peaceful, and the staff were lovely and attentive. However, I encountered several issues with the room change and communication that marred the experience.

Rooms
6.0
The Superior Double Room was fairly sized and beautifully appointed, but I was initially given one that lacked privacy and had thin walls. The toiletries were great, including the locally made black soap.
Service
5.0
While the staff were attentive and friendly, I had significant issues with the management, who were sarcastic when I requested to change rooms and aggressive when addressing billing. This made for a very uncomfortable experience.
Location
9.0
The location is superb, nestled in the old Medina but in a tranquil zone. It's easily accessible to the main alleys and not far from the vibrant market scenes.
Dining

Breakfast was plentiful but quite repetitive, mostly consisting of bread and jam. not quite what I had hoped for, especially since I was celebrating a special occasion.
Facilities

The facilities were adequate with room service and other amenities like housekeeping and a welcome drink. However, I felt uncomfortable with the service-related issues and overall communication.

I had a tranquil experience at Riad Anjar, perfectly located in the old Medina, away from the hustle and bustle. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel right at home. However, a few things, like the breakfast options and some minor maintenance issues, could use improvement.

Rooms

My Standard Double Room was beautifully appointed with fantastic toiletries, including local black soap. The room size was fair, but the pipes made a scary noise at times.
Service
8.0
The service was attentive and cheerful, with staff always eager to assist. But they weren't always easy to find when needed, as there's no front desk.
Location
6.0
The location is superb, right in the middle of the Medina, but felt a bit insecure at times. Given that vehicles can't enter, it requires a short walk with luggage.
Dining
6.0
Breakfast was a bit disappointing, mostly consisting of bread and jam, which was limited for the price I paid. However, the pastries were fresh and generous, providing a nice start to my day.
Facilities

There were good facilities like housekeeping and airport shuttle, but some amenities like TV and fridge were missing. The experience still felt enriched by the traditional ambiance.
